This explains what this site collects, why, who else sees it, and how to have it removed. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Who this is
The Systems Guy is the trading name of a marketing systems consultancy run by Tobie Allen, part of Ma'ana, licence CN-4785708, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this policy "I" and "we" mean that business, and "you" means anyone visiting this site or booking a call.
What is collected
Two things, and nothing else.
Analytics. Google Analytics 4 records how the site is used: pages viewed, roughly where in the world you are, what device and browser you are on, and how you arrived. This is used to understand which parts of the site are working. It is not used to identify you personally, and it is never sold.
Booking details. If you book a discovery call, you give a name, an email address and a phone number, plus anything you choose to write in the form. This is used to hold the call, to send the confirmation and reminders, and to follow up about working together.
There is no newsletter signup, no account to create, and no payment taken on this site.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies to tell repeat visits from new ones. The booking calendar sets its own cookies so it can function. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works fine without them, though the booking calendar may not.
Who else sees it
Only the companies whose tools run this site, and only so those tools can do their job.
- Google for analytics, and for the calendar invite and video link once a call is booked.
- LeadConnector, also known as GoHighLevel, the scheduling and CRM platform behind the booking calendar. Booking details are stored there.
- Vercel, which hosts this site and keeps standard server logs.
- Meta, if and only if you choose to click the WhatsApp button, at which point WhatsApp's own terms apply to that conversation.
Your details are not sold, rented, or passed to anyone for their own marketing. Ever.
How long it is kept
Booking and contact details are kept for as long as there is a working relationship or a live conversation, and are deleted on request. Analytics data is retained on Google's default schedule for GA4.
Your rights
You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email the address below and it will be dealt with. There is no form to fill in and no charge.
If you are in the UAE, this is handled in line with Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data. If you are in the UK or EU, the same requests are honoured on the same terms.
Opting out of analytics
You can block Google Analytics with Google's own browser opt-out add-on, with a content blocker, or by turning off cookies. Nothing on this site is withheld from you if you do.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be obvious rather than buried.
